Fast Food Restaurants Receive Counterfeit Money

Two fast food restaurants reported receiving fake money within four hours on Nov. 6.

First, workers at Taco Bell/KFC told police a man walked in at 3:15 p.m. and ordered a taco for 99 cents and paid with a suspicious looking $20 bill. The cashier looked at it for a moment before looking up to see that the man had already left — with his taco.

At 6:45 p.m., an employee at McDonalds advised police that a man paid for food using two counterfeit $20 bills. Lt. Bruce Felton said police believe the same man used the bills at both locations. He is described as white, age 18 or 19, about 5 foot 5 inches, and drove a brown or tan sedan.

The police department has all three bills, but has not located the suspect.
