Renat Akberdin was believed to be missing and raised a gun at officers during a welfare check, Eastlake police say.

A Solon man has been charged with multiple felonies for his role in an officer-involved shooting on July 9 in Eastlake, according to police.

Renat A. Akberdin, 48, of North Roundhead Drive, has been charged with felony destruction of evidence and resisting arrest, aggravated menacing and using weapons while intoxicated.

Akberdin was reported missing July 8. When Eastlake police conducted a welfare check at his East 357th Street business, he was found inside armed with a handgun, according to a July 10 press release.
