Drunken Driving Checkpoint: Solon Police Reveal When It Will Happen

The Solon Police Department announces what day they will hold a checkpoint to catch intoxicated drivers.

The has revealed more information on a planned drunken driving checkpoint this weekend.

The checkpoint will be set up somewhere in Solon this Saturday.

The checkpoint is designed to detect impaired drivers before they can hurt themselves or someone else and to educate the public about the dangers of drunk driving, according to a police news release.Β

In addition, officers will be highly vigilant for impaired driving on all roadways in Solon throughout the holiday weekend.Β

"We want the public to know that we will be out there for the benefit of the motoring public and pedestrians, working to make our roadways safe," said Sgt. Jamey Hofmann.Β 

The Solon Police Department reminds you to make smart choices if you are going to be drinking:

  • designate a driver
  • call a cab
  • stay at your home or a hotel
  • call a friend or family member
