Drunken Driver Strikes Parked Car, Mailboxes Before Arrest

A Solon man with multiple prior drunken driving arrests was charged with drunken driving after police say he hit two mailboxes and a parked car while driving, according to a Solon Police report.

Samuel Monachino, 44, of Solon, is charged with drunken driving, hit and skip and failure to control, according to the police report.

According to the report, a resident on Woodlands Lane called police to tell them that a pickup truck had hit his parked car. He also said that the truck had first hit two mailboxes on Aurora Road, according to the report.

Officers caught the pickup driver after he ran his truck onto a curb on SOM Center Road near Bainbridge Road.

The driver refused a breathalyzer, according to the police report.
