Drunken Driver Falls Asleep In Road: Drunken Driving Roundup

Solon Police have arrested five drivers and charged them with drunken driving in February. Here's a roundup of those arrests taken from police reports.

Remember, these are only charges, and not convictions.

  • A 42-year-old of Wellsville was arrested and charged with drunken driving on Feb. 1 after he fell asleep on Davis Industrial Parkway at Solon Road with the car running and in drive, his foot on the brake.  He resisted with officers and was additionally charged with resisting arrest. He refused a breath test.
  • A 37-year-old Solon man was arrested and charged with drunken driving on Feb. 1 after being stopped for lane violations on Aurora Road between Camp Industrial Parkway and Solon Road.  He submitted to a breath test with a result of .206. He was also charged with Driving Under Suspension and Alcohol Consumption in a Motor Vehicle. 
  • A 38-year-old Cleveland woman was arrested and charged with drunken driving on Feb. 10 following a traffic stop on Kruse Drive for an improper turn.  She submitted to a breath test with a result of .229. She was aslo charged with Driving under Suspension.
  • A 29-year-old Akron man was arrested and charged with drunken driving on Feb. 10 after being stopped on U.S. 422 eastbound near SOM Center Road for weaving and erratic driving. He submitted to a breath test with a result of .132.           
  • A 36-year-old Lakewood man was arrested and charged with drunken driving on Feb. 12 following a traffic stop for an illegal turn and following a police car too closely.  He submitted to a breath test with a result of .136.
