Dog Bites Bailiff Delivering Eviction Notice in Solon

The information in this report is from the Solon Police Department. An Arrest does not indicate a conviction

Charges may be coming against a Solon woman whose dog bit a bailiff while he was serving an eviction notice in the Liberty Hill neighborhood.

The bailiff told Solon police that when someone at the residence on South Roundhead Drive opened the door, a dog ran out and bit him on his left upper thigh. The dog would not release its jaws, so the bailiff pulled out his gun and was prepared to shoot the animal, but the owner was able to pull the dog off of the bailiff, a 54-year-old Aurora man.

The bailiff was taken to the emergency room at St. Vincent for treatment. The dog, which the owner described as a German Shepherd and Labrador Retriever mix, is overdue on its rabies vaccine. The dog was placed in quarantine because of that.
