Crack Cocaine Found in Solon: Man Arrested During Traffic Stop

A 58-year-old Hiram man faces felony drug charges after police found suspected crack cocaine during a traffic stop, and then he tried to sneak more of the drug into the Solon Jail, according to Solon Police.

Arrested and charged was Michael E. Skudrin, 58, of Hiram. He is charged with felony drug possession, conveyance of drugs into a detention center and possessing drug abuse instruments, according to the police report.

Police pulled over a driver on Dec. 16 at about 9 a.m. on the U.S. 422 exit ramp to SOM Center Road for an expired license plate. The officer said the driver seemed nervous and was trying to hide something in his right hand, according to the report.

Officers found a crack pipe in the driver's possession along with rocks of suspect crack in the center console of the man's truck, reads the report.

Police arrested the man and asked him if he had any more drugs on him. The man said no, according to the report.

But when the man was searched in the booking area of the jail, police found another suspected crack cocaine rock in his shirt pocket.
