Coroner: Skeleton Found Near Cedar Point Is Missing Solon Man

The Erie County Coronor's Office confirmed today that the remains found in June are those of missing Solon man Charles Kaplan, reports the Plain Dealer.

A partial skeleton found near Cedar Point have been confirmed as the remains of Solon man Charles Kaplan, who has been missing since his boat overturned last year, reports the Plain Dealer.

The Erie County Coroner's Office told the newspaper that the remains were Kaplan. A cause of death is not yet known.

In late June, two boys walking along a breakwall near Cedar Point found human remains. They told their father, who contacted authorities. At the time, authorities believed the remains were Kaplan, but that needed to be confirmed.

Kaplan, of Solon, has been missing since his boat was found capsized near the amusement park last October.

Kaplan's companion, Pam Holstein, was found dead inside the boat. The Coast Guard combed the area for Kaplan, but he was never found and the search for him was suspended.
