Cleveland Man Arrested in Solon With Weapons, Drugs

A Cleveland man was arrested after Solon Police said he was caught with drugs and weapons, including a loaded handgun, on U.S. 422 in Solon, according to a police report.

Arrested and charged was Wesley James Vanzant, 30, of Cleveland. He was charged with having weapons while under disability, drug possession, driving under suspension and driving in marked lanes.

According to the police report, Vanzant was pulled over at about 11 p.m. on May 1 after a patrol officer saw him weaving.

The officer noticed a large knife on the floor of the driver's seat as he approached the car and got the driver out of the car.

During a search, Police found an open can of beer in the car, a digital scale with a white power residue, pills without a prescription and a loaded .38-caliber pistol in the trunk.
