Burglary in Solon: Thieves Break Into Home, Steal Expensive Jewelry

Solon detectives are investigating after a jaw-dropping amount of jewelry was stolen from a home on Tidewater Drive in Signature of Solon.

Sometime during two 45-minute windows on the afternoon of June 16, thieves broke into Signature of Solon home and stole nearly $40,000 worth of jewelry.

The 43-year-old owner of a Tidewater Drive home told that the home was unoccuped from 12:15 p.m. and 1 p.m. and between 1:15 p.m. and 2 p.m. on June 16.

During one of those times, the homeower said, someone ransacked the bedrooms home and stole an assortment of rings, diamonds, watches and other jewelry worth a combined $39,822.

Police believe that a thief pried open a basement window to get inside the house and exited the home through a sliding door in the basement.

There are no suspects. Detectives are investigating the burglary.
