Beachwood Man Blows Three Times Legal Limit in Breath Test

Police pulled over a Beachwood man who was three times the legal limit and a suspect in a hit/skip accident in Bedford Heights

A 22-year-old man was arrested on April 1 after police spotted him driving eastbound on Miles Road at 81 mph, according to the Solon Police Department.

Gabriel Stokes, of Beachwood, was driving a red Honda and was seen crossing the center line several times by an officer on patrol. When that officer activated his lights and sirens, Stokes continued to flee.

The officer followed Stokes onto Beacon Hill Drive in Orange where he pulled into a garage and attempted to shut the door on the officer. However the officer was able to order the man out before the door closed.

Stokes was not cooperative when police attempted to take him into custody, so sobriety tests were performed at the jail, which he failed. In a breath test, he blew a .273, three times the legal limit.

Stokes was charged with having an open container, driving under the influence, speeding, crossing the center lane and failure to comply. Officers also found out that he is a suspect in a hit/skip accident in Bedford Heights, and spotted fresh damage to the front bumper of his car.
