Launch week is in the bag, so go check out the articles you may have missed.

This was a big week for Solon Patch. We launched with a bunch of content and we started getting to know the community better.

Every weekend, Solon Patch will look back on the stories that we covered to give you a chance to catch up on things you may have missed. Remember, feel free to comment on articles, ask questions in the Q&A section and say whatever you want in the shout box.

The biggest story we had this week, and our first taste of breaking news on Solon Patch, was the news that the owner of Solon McDonald's has the city council's decision to reject her plans to build a new restaurant at the corner of SOM Center and Aurora roads. That appeal will be heard in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court. We will definitely have more coverage on this one as it develops.

Another big story was Mayor Susan Drucker's announcement that she would appoint Detective Lt. Christopher Viland as the .

On the crime side we had some interesting crime reporting, including a report of a man who blamed for his OVI arrest and some teens who got caught underage drinking at a while the parents were away.

In business news, we took a look at Solon's tax revenue, which in 2010 from a sluggish 2009. We also took a close look at the city's and took a look at a local business that took advantage of it to hire new workers.

You would think it's a slow time for education news with schools on break. But we had a profile of OPEN, a group for parents of , and looked at a new policy to prevent at Solon City Schools.

We had sports coverage too, including a profile of Solon grad and University of Tennessee volleyball player  and a look at Solon High School's girls .

A group of Solon High School alumni on Thursday night to benefit the school's drama club. We also took a look at the painting of , a local artist who has a gallery show right now at the Solon Center for the Arts.
