Pick Solon's Top Stories of the Year

As 2011 winds to a close, Solon Patch wants to recognize the top stories of the year.

To do this, we need your help! Tell us what you think the top story of the year in Solon was. We know there were lots of big national and state stories out there -- the fight over Senate Bill 5 comes to mind -- but in this we want to focus on the local events that happened in Solon?

Do you think it was a government story, such as the city's ongoing discussions about or ? Or is your big story the latest big news in town: the filed against the city by the mayor's former secretary.

Perhaps it was good news, such as Solon's recognition as in the country or the by the Solon High and Middle schools science olympiad teams. Maybe it was a tragic story, such as the death of a on U.S. 422 or the crash that killed a in southern Ohio.

Then on Dec. 26, I'll tally the votes and run down the top five stories of the year, starting with No. 5 on Dec. 27 and finishing with the top story of the year on New Year's Eve.
