Cuyahoga County Veterans Attend Ohio Veterans Benefits Event Hosted by Rep Anielski

INDEPENDENCE—State Representative Marlene Anielski (R-Independence) and The City of Independence Senior Organization hosted a Veterans' Benefits Fair on Friday, June 14th. The event, attended by many local veterans, was by all accounts a tremendous success.

The benefits fair took place at the Independence Civic Center and featured a variety of organizations geared towards helping those who have served our country, no matter what era, their spouses, and families. Throughout the day, hundreds of people attended and there were agency representatives who assisted military personnel and their families to sign up for their benefits and employment services.

Colonel Thomas Moe, The Director of the Ohio Department of Veterans Services, was the featured speaker of the afternoon.

“All of our military personnel have given personal sacrifices in leaving their loved ones to protect our freedoms,” Rep Anielski said. “It is of the utmost importance that we make sure that all those who have served, no matter in what capacity and no matter what era, are aware of the benefits and services that they deserve.”

“I, as President of the Independence Senior Organization and a veteran myself, was glad to joint sponsor this event for our veterans along with Representative Anielski,” said Tom Priebe, President of Independence Senior Organization. "Our veterans have given so much to us and it is a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate our appreciation to them for their service."
