The program encourages children to explore the excitement of reading by teaming up with local schools. The students and parents were invited down to Columbus and given a VIP tour of the Statehouse, a chance to participate in a mock legislative voting session, and lunch with the legislator.

“It was my pleasure to be able to invite a group of young scholars down to the Statehouse to have a chance to see how their state government works,” Rep Anielski said. “It is my hope that these students now have a greater understanding of how a bill becomes a law and the day to day responsibilities of a state legislator.”
