UPDATE: Power Restored in Solon

All power has been restored to Solon.

First Energy's outage map shows no outages in Solon as of 9:11 a.m.

At least 500 Solon customers remain without power after last night's heavy winds, according to First Energy.

Bill Snyder with Progress Energy told Solon officials Tuesday night that crews were working on restoring power and they hoped to have it restored by last night or this morning.

Last night, heavy winds blowing a cold front into the area left as many as 1,000 Solon residents without power.

The high winds, at least, are gone now. Today's forecast from the National Weather Service calls for winds between 6 and 16 miles per hour. There is a 70 percent chance of snow showers, with about one or two inches of accumulation expected today.

High temperatures are expected to reach 27 degrees.
