Solon Named No. 1 City in Ohio to Raise Children
Bloomberg Businessweek said "Solon is also one of the few towns in the area still economically fit enough to provide free services like snowplowing and garbage pickup."
Bloomberg Businessweek lists the philharmonic orchestra and free city amenities as reasons why Solon is the No. 1 community in Ohio to raise kids.
The publication and Bloomberg Rankings evaluated more than 3,200 places in the nation with populations between 5,000 and 50,000. Metrics like public school performance, safety, housing costs, commute time, poverty, adults' educational attainment, share of households with children and diversity were taken into consideration.
According to Bloomberg's results, Solon is an affluent city of 23,046 with a medium family income of $113,613.
