Solon High Grad Competes On Jeopardy!

Nishanth Uli, a Solon High graduate, will compete in Friday's episode of the Jeopardy! College Championship

Who is Nishanth Uli?

A 19-year-old Solon native who is participating in the Jeopardy! College Championship.

Uli will appear on the show Friday. Jeopardy! airs at 7:30 p.m. on WOIO CBS.

Uli, who now attends Washington University in St. Louis and studies biology and history, is one of 15 college students participating in the Jeopardy! College Championship, a two-week event that started May 6 and will earn the winner $100,000 and a slot in the Tournament of Champions.

The tournament was filmed in April.

On Friday, Uli will take on Laura Rigge from Wellesley College and Forrest Farjadian from the University of Tulsa.

To qualify for the tournament, prospective collegiate contestants took a 50-question online test; those who passed were selected at random to attend regional in-person auditions consisting of a second 50-question test, mock game play, and a brief interview.
