Solon Patch is one of many contestants cooking up some tasty chili and raising money for local charities tonight at 5 p.m. at Solon United Methodist Church.

Want to eat great chili and support some local charities?

The 3rd Annual Solon Celebrity Chili Cook-Off will take place tonight at Solon United Methodist Church.

The event pits local Solon "celebrities" in a battle over who can cook the best chili. More importantly, the event is designed to raise money for local charities that do good works in the area.

And guess what? You're friendly Solon Patch Local Editor Chris Mazzolini -- that's me -- will be taking part in the cookoff. I've been busy perfecting my chili recipe.

I'll be representing Hands, Hearts & Homes Outreach, a charity that I wrote about last year and which also received some national press in a column by Ariana Huffington.
