UPDATE: Power Mostly Restored in Solon

Only a handful of FirstEnergy customers in Solon are without power as of 2 p.m.

UPDATE 2:08 P.M. TUESDAY:

As of 2 p.m., only 13 power customers in Solon are without power, according to estimates from the FirstEnergy website.

About 5,300 customers are still without power across Cuyahoga County, a result of the ice storm that hit early Monday. Lakewood has the most, with more than 1,300 customers still without electricity.

UPDATE 6:34 A.M. TUESDAY:

As of 6:30 a.m. today, 112 FirstEnergy customers in Solon still lack power, according to estimates from the FirstEnergy website. Stay tuned for more information on this.

Overall, more than 6,000 customers are without power in Cuyahoga County this morning.

Icy conditions contributed to a series of power outages in several Patch areas on Monday, including 135 outages in Solon as of 4 p.m.

FirstEnergy spokesperson Mark Durbin said, “We’re hopeful” to get power restored soon, but some areas may not be restored until Tuesday.  

As of about 4 p.m. Monday, 981 Lakewood customers were without power and 893 customers in Mayfield Height were blacked out, according to First Energy.

Other areas affected include Beachwood, with about 64 customers without electricity. Twinsburg, Stow and Cuyahoga Falls reported no outages Monday morning.

FirstEnergy updates its estimates of area outages on its website regularly. 

People should call 1-888-544-4877 to report power outages in their areas.
