Lake Effect Snow Warning: One To Two Feet Of Snow Possible in Northeast Ohio

A Lake Effect Snow Warning begins at 6 a.m. Thursday for much of Northeast Ohio, including Cuyahoga County.

The National Weather Service has issued a Lake Effect Snow Warning beginning Thursday morning and extending through Saturday morning.

A Lake Effect Watch had been called for, but was upgraded to a warning at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

A cold front will move into the area tonight, allowing an arctic airmass to settle over Northeast Ohio.

Forecasters say inland snow accumulations could reach six inches to a foot, with up to two feet of accumulation possible in areas closest to the lake. Basically, the closer to the lake, the greater chance for higher snow accumulations.
