Cleveland Magazine Rates the Suburbs: Where Does Solon Rank?

Solon is the second-best suburb in Cleveland, according to Cleveland Magazine's annual "Rating the Suburbs" issue.

Solon moved up in the , where the city came in as the No. 4 suburb.

Why the great ranking? As usual, much of the credit goes to the performance of . The magazine ranks Solon has having the best school system of all the 77 suburbs that were ranked.

The schools also held the top spot in 2011 and 2010.

While Solon did better overall, the city did do worse in one area: Safety. Solon dropped from No. 33 to No. 45 out of 77 in safety. That's the third-worst rating for the suburbs considered in the top 20.
