High Wind Causing Power Outages in Solon

Winds may reach 25 to 35 miles per hour, with gusts up to 55 miles per hour.

A wind advisory is in effect until midnight in Northeast Ohio, including Solon.

First Energy is estimating that 501 to 2,000 customers could be without power in Solon, according to the company's outage map.

The National Weather Service forecasts sustained winds of 25 to 35 miles per hour with gusts reaching 55 miles per hour in Northeast Ohio. The forecast calls for winds of 25 to 28 miles per hour, up to gusts of 41 miles per hour in Solon.

The winds are part of a cold front moving through the area that will whisk away our mild weather and bring in colder temperatures.

There's a chance of rain turning to snow before midnight, with snow showers continuing thereafter. Low temperatures are expected to drop to 21 degrees.
