St. Vincent Closing Emergency Room in Solon

St. Vincent's emergency department in Solon will transition to an urgent care on Dec. 3.

St. Vincent Charity Medical Center is ending 24-hour emergency room in Solon but will now provide urgent care services.

The emergency department will transition into an urgent care on Dec. 3, according to a press release from St. Vincent.

The campus located at 33001 Solon Road will become an urgent care operating from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekends.

"We feel confident that the emergency services needs of Solon and the nearby communities are being met with the expansion of so many healthcare services in the area," said Dr. David F. Perse, President and CEO of St. Vincent Charity Medical Center. "This new model allows St. Vincent Charity Medical Center to continue its 30-year presence in the Solon area."

St. Vincent also plans to provide occupational health services in the former emergency department.

"This new, combined model not only maximizes resources, but also demonstrates St. Vincent Charity’s commitment to the Solon area business community through its Occupational Health services," reads the news release.
