Solon Man Rolls Out Innovative Exercise Bike

Want to try out the new Ball Bike? The Solon Community Center now has a bunch of them.

Solon resident Chuck Herman has been in the exercise equipment business for a long time, and he says there's never been a piece of equipment like the Ball Bike.

Created by a Canton company called Fit One, the Ball Bike innovates on the design of an exercise bike by using a stability ball instead of a seat.

This forces the rider to balance during their workout, helping to strengthen the bodies core muscles, said Herman, who is a partner in Fit One.

The community center has purchased 11 Ball Bikes from FitOne and will begin offering classes using the unique workout machine.

The classes will run for six weeks and cost $45 for Solon resident members and $60 for non-resident members, with preference going to residents.

The community center will offer demo classes Sunday morning at 8 a.m. and Wednesday at 6 p.m.
