L'Oreal Plant in Solon Closing By End of 2013

L'Oreal USA announced that the plant will close by the end of 2013, affecting 260 employees.

announced the company will close its in Solon by near the end of 2013.

The plant located on Aurora Road is being close as part of a restructuring to combine its production and equipment to two plants, one in Kentucky and the other in New Jersey.

The decision is being made "to ensure that the company could meet the business growth for professional products anticipated in the future," reads the company statement. "All shampoo and conditioner production will be centralized at one location in North America."

The decision will affect about 260 workers. The company says in a statement it "will offer affected employees in good standing continued employment at other L’Oréal USA locations where possible."

L’Oréal USA said it will maintain its distribution facility in Streetsboro, Ohio.
