Here’s one for the little guy

As the chairman of the , it is my distinct pleasure to work with all of our members, large and small, industrial, professional and retail, public, private and non-profit. During my short tenure I have been exhilarated by the willingness of our members to help their fellow members with business opportunities, referrals, mentoring and other forms of support.

The Chamber’s mission is to serve as an advocate for the business community by supporting and fostering vibrant economic growth. And it’s working. We are blessed to live, work and play in a community that helps our own and the Chamber is always looking for new ways to do this.

On Wednesday, June 20 the Chamber . The concept of a cash mob is simple: It’s about people helping people and having fun while doing it. With $20 in hand, members of a community come together to shop in a locally-owned establishment to give them an immediate economic boost and to create new lifetime customers for the business.

The destination for our first cash mob is a surprise -- part of the fun -- but I can say that it is a locally owned retail establishment. And I guarantee there will be something for everyone.

Our cash mob will meet in the Solon Square Shopping Center, 33321 Aurora Road, in front of the Steinmart building, at 5:00 PM on Wednesday June 20.  Following the cash mob, we invite all participants to gather at another local establishment (to be announced on June 20th) for refreshments and snacks.

Please join the Chamber and your fellow Solonites in supporting our local businesses and making Solon a more vibrant community.
