Burntwood Tavern Excited About New Solon Location

Burntwood Tavern Owner Bret Adams says Solon has welcomed his restaurant to town with open arms.

Bret Adam didn't mince words: Solon hasn't always had a reputation for supporting local businesses.

But that was then. Now Adams' restaurant, , has a new location in Solon, and he coudn't be more impressed with how Solon residents have welcomed them to town.

"We've been blessed because Solon has been so welcoming to us," said Adams, who added that residents keep coming up to him and thanking him for opening in Solon.

Burntwood Tavern, a locally owned restaurant with locations in Chagrin Falls and Rocky River, opened in Solon recently at the former Max and Erma's location at Solon Road and Kruse Drive.

But anyone who visited Max and Erma's won't recognize the place now. Burntwood Tavern has a distinctive look, with its copper-top bar, hand-blown glass light fixtures and barnwood beams. The restaurants are designed by a Northeast Ohio artist named Christian Kalinyak.

It's a simple, timeless look that matches what the restaurant serves in its menu.

"The whole concept, from food to the decor, is about simplicity," Adams said. "Our food is made from scratch. It's simple and straight-forward, with a bit of a twist."

Adams said some of the most popular dishes are the cedar plank salmon and the tavern dip, a french dip sandwich.
