Kneading, molding and scoring.

That is what kids did as they created clay sculptures Thursday at the Solon Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library.

Thursday's program, Cultural Ceramics, was one of the many library summer programs set up for children.  It was created so kids could mold their own piece of art that is based off of characters from African folk tales.

The children had an hour to complete the projects.  All of them were given a piece of clay, water, and a plastic utensil.  Some of the animals created were elephants, turtles, and spiders.

The next summer program will be Thursday, June 23 at 2 p.m.  It is already at full capacity, but to reserve a spot for any of the other programs contact the Solon Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library.
