Solon Makes Top 50 in 'Best Places to Live'
CNN's Money Magazine ranked Solon No. 42 in it's Best Places to Live: America's Best Small Towns.
Solon has been highlighted on a national platform after it was put into the Top 50 of CNN Money Magazine's Best Places to Live: America's Best Small Towns.
Solon was ranked No. 42 on the list and was the third of three cities in Ohio to be ranked. Twinsburg was ranked No. 38.
"It's incredible," Mayor Susan Drucker said. "We have been extremely fortunate that year after year we get positive ratings."
Money Magazine said having a Top 10 school system in Ohio and big industries such as Nestlé, L'Oréal and the Cleveland Clinic are major draws. But it's what you can do after school and work hours that sets it apart.
"Solon has its own philharmonic orchestra, a community center with a packed calendar of programming, and a performing-arts center that offers classes," Money Magazine wrote.
"We have a very well-informed, active residential base," Drucker said. "People are very involved in the community."
Money Magazine also complimented Solon for its parks and open spaces as well as its proximity to Lake Erie.
Drucker was happy to see multiple cities in Ohio make the Top 50 list, saying it's the people that make a place like Solon really special.
"It's all the good in our community that helps us get this recognition."
