There's tons of stuff on tap for the 2011 edition of the Solon Home Days

The 2011 Solon Home Days has tons of fun activities on tap for residents to enjoy during the four-day festival, which begins Thursday and ends Sunday.

Every day during the festival, we will provide more info on a few events. Our guide to the event is not all-encompassing, and simply offers highlights. To fully experience it, by all means get out to the park and check it out for yourself.

THURSDAY (Events begin at 5 p.m.)

SOLON HOME DAYS RAFFLE BEGINS

What: Tickets for the raffle, organized by the Solon Benevolent Fund, are sold throughout the festival. Daily winners will be drawn, as well as featuring hourly prize packages, including cash prizes. All tickets will be eligible for the grand prize drawing held at 9 p.m. Sunday.

The grand prize is $5,000 cash, a donation from the Davis Automotive Group. Other prizes include $1,000 cash donated by the Friends of the Solon Benevolent Fund, a 42-inch HD TV donated by Sam's Club and a $550 Weber Gas Grill, donated by Solon Hardware & Tool Rental. 

Cost: Tickets are $5 each or $20 for five tickets.

SOLON SENIOR CENTER HOME DAYS PASTA DINNER

What: The annual pasta dinner serves as the kickoff to Home Days. The dinner includes pasta, salad, bread, dessert and a soft drink, and raises money for senior center programs. 

When and Where: The dinner takes place from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Solon Community Center Banquet Hall.

Cost: Tickets are $8 at the door and $7 if bought in advance at the Solon Senior Center or the Recreation Department during regular business hours.

SOLON ARTS CENTER MONTAGE DANCE CAMP

What: The Montage Dance Camp, held this month at the Art Center, gives kids in grades one through seven a chance to learn about the arts – and perform on the main stage during Home Days.

When and Where: The Main Stage at 5:45 p.m.

Cost: Free!
