It's one of the hot-button issues in Solon right now. City Council expects to receive a from the public works commissioner by May 1.

But this is a very controversial issue. Deer management often means killing deer to thin the herd, and . Some see it as an animal-rights issue, while others oppose it on a safety basis – they don't want weapons fired in the city.

Others see deer management as necessary for the public safety, but so far the opponents have been far more vocal.
