We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.

Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.

You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance.

Look for the kids’ planner each Monday, and help us build the planner with your own suggestions and tips — just add them to the comment box. Even if you disagree with our picks, let us know. We want to hear from you.

Where/When: Twinsburg Public Library, Wednesday from 7:15-8 p.m.

Why Go: The library is celebrating Cat in the Hat creator, Dr. Seuss, with a party! All ages are welcome, bring a friend. Make sure you pre-register at the library.        

Pricing: Free

Where/When: Solon Public Library, Wednesday 10-10:30 a.m.

Why Go: Babies, aged up to 18 months, and their caregivers are invited to this event. It is built around mental stimulation as well as songs, finger puppets and stories.

Pricing: Free.

Where/When: Solon Community Center, Friday from 6:30-9:00 p.m.

Why Go: Fun Fest is just that: A WHOLE DAY OF FUN! There will be dancing and games, clowns and air bouncers. You can get some food while you enjoy a drumming presentation and then hit the BINGO game to cap it all off.

Where/When: Beachwood Public Library, Friday from 2-3 p.m.

Why Go: Grab the kids for a special puppet event! Nancy Sander is back with an all-new puppet show, Rumpelstiltskin. All families are invited to see a master puppeteer's hilarious twist on this classic tale.
