Ohio House Candidate Prepares to Walk 50 Miles in 24 Hours Across District

Anthony Fossaceca, the Democratic candidate for the 6th District of the Ohio House of Representatives, announced today that this week he'll be walking 50 miles in 24 hours to reach parts of all 18 communities in his district in one day.

The walk, scheduled to begin Friday, June 6th at 10AM in Lyndhurst, will cover residential neighborhoods, industrial parks, retail and commercial districts, and public spaces before ending the following morning in Seven Hills.

“The voters of the 6th District deserve a representative who is visible, pro-active, and ready to serve the challenging needs of our region and state,” Fossaceca said. “When elected this fall, I’ll bring this same energy and passion to the position of State Representative as I fight for vibrant neighborhoods, small businesses, and stronger schools.”

Fossaceca's walk will take him to a series of short campaign stops along the way, including two breakfasts with working families, a late afternoon lunch with small business owners, and a short evening reception with local supporters. In between, Fossaceca plans to knock on hundreds of doors and introduce himself to voters across the wide-ranging district.

"At door after door, voters are telling me that they're looking for leaders in Columbus who actually want to do the job they're paid to do. They know it's not enough to show up at election time and throw on a button. They want leaders willing to take the time to listen to their concerns and learn the impact of their decisions. They don't feel like the concerns of this district are being addressed. I hope to change that sentiment in November." said Fossaceca.

In addition to walking, Fossaceca will be updating his supporters hourly along his travels by uploading video, photos, and stories to www.walkthesixth.com.
