I'm Running for State Representative. Again.

Today, I'm proud to announce that I am lacing up the shoes, rolling up the sleeves, and taking another swing at the Ohio House seat in the 6th District.

Two years ago, after becoming increasingly tired of the inactivity of our legislators in Columbus, I entered the race for State Representative in Ohio's 6th District. I wasn't alone. Over the twenty months that followed, we worked together to spread our message of economic development, strong schools, and vibrant communities.

While we may have carried a stronger message, we fell short when the votes were counted on Election Night.

Since November, not much has changed in the capital. The Republican majority in the Ohio House remains distracted and disconnected from the people of our state. The Attorney General is working to restrict health care access for women. The Governor's budget is drawing criticism from both parties. And back here in the district, the current representative fails to provide the leadership necessary to keep our region and state growing and moving forward.

When I decided to run last cycle, I did it because I knew I could do better. The people of this district - Democrats, Republicans, and Independents - deserved more. We needed a leader to take the position seriously, roll up their sleeves and work tirelessly to get real results. Unfortunately, we're still getting more of the same.

For me, that's not enough.

In the five months since the 2012 election, I've had plenty of time to reflect on what we could have done differently. There were some real strengths, and some blind spots too. Still, at the end of the day, I know we did this for the right reasons and ran a campaign we could be proud of. It was a worthy cause and I've never regretted, not even for a single second, the decision to throw my hat into the ring.

Which is why I'm doing it again.

Today, I'm proud to announce that I am lacing up the shoes, rolling up the sleeves, and taking another swing at this important Ohio House seat. The race ahead will be tough, but like last time, we'll give it everything we've got. We'll be tough, creative, and innovative. And this time, if we do everything right, we'll finish with a victory.

I'm fired up. I'm ready to go.
Let's do it!
