On April 17, 241 employees at Aclara Technologies were told 79 people would lose their jobs. The company is expected to start phasing out its manufacturing operations in October, according to a Crain's Cleveland Business story. The Solon-based company makes automated meter-reading equipment related to software. Aclara will be done phasing out its manufacturing business by March and plans to keep its office workers employed in the Solon location.
