The Solon High School Drama Club presents its performance of the classic "Thoroughly Modern Millie," which opens Thursday.

Solon Arts Center Announces Playwriting Competition Winners

Solon Music Parents Annual Pasta Dinner Is Tonight

The 33rd Annual Pasta Dinner is scheduled for tonight from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Solon High School cafeteria.

The Solon Music Parents will present the 33rd annual Pasta Dinner tonight featuring student-performed jazz music and some good food. The dinner runs from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Solon High School cafeteria. Tickets at the door are $7 for adults, $6 for students and seniors and $3 for children under 5. Entertainment during the dinner will be provided by the Solon High School and Solon Middle School jazz bands. There will also be a silent auction during the event. College students preparing to enter the workplace have to be concerned with much more than just résumés, cover letters and their wardrobes. Most students today have some type of online presence, and prospective employers often scan these digital footprints to see if there are any signs of less-than-professional behavior. Three Kent State University students recently developed a Web application to help those looking to clean up their acts – virtually speaking. Computer science majors Camden Fullmer, Daniel Gur and David Steinberg created FaceWash – now known as SimpleWash – in a weekend “hackathon,” a programming competition at the University of Pennsylvania that was held Jan. 18 – 20. Music in Motion Named Grand Champion at Findlay FEst 2013

Solon's show choir won best vocals, best choreography and best band.

Solon High School's beloved show choir, Music in Motion, hit it big this weekend. The group was named grand champion, finishing first at the Findlay FEst 2013, according to their Facebook page. Music in Motion was won awards for best vocals, best choreography and best band along with the first-place finish. Josh Trattner was named most dynamic performer.

MSN says that Cleveland is the second coolest city in the midwest.  Why is that? The article mentioned the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, the Cleveland Museum of Art's new mirrored addition and the Grog Shop in Cleveland Heights. So if you agree that when many people say Cleveland they include the great cities around it -- including Lakewood, Cleveland Heights, Mentor and Solon, what makes Cleveland cool?
