This past Saturday, Solon High School's Music in Motion won it's 5th straight Grand Championship at the Teays Valley Classic in Ashville, Ohio.
The competition is a combination of middle school, festival class and championship class show choirs. This year, 20 choirs from Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and West Virginia participated.
In the daytime competition, Music in Motion received awards for Best Costumes, Best Female Soloist (Dani Apple), and Best Male Soloist (Kirk Eichelberger, Jr.).
Just 3 festival and 4 championship choirs were selected to advance to the evening finals.
For the evening awards, Solon won Best Instrumental Combo, Best Choreography, Best Vocals awards, as well as Grand Champion for the competition.
Winning all 5 competitions that they attended this year, Music In Motion wraps up the 2012 competition season undefeated. In the group's 25 year history, this record winning season is a first. lt also puts Music in Motion in a very small class of show choirs throught the US that have won 5 grand championships in one season. It's safe to say, that this is the kind of company that the Music In Motion students and directors are very happy and proud to keep.
