Two Men Charged With Felonious Assault After Bloody Fight

Two men were charged with felonious assault -- and hospitalized -- after a vicious and bloody fight at a corner bar in Solon On Jan. 9, according to .

The fight between a 51-year-old New Yorker and a 33-year-old Solon man started after, police say, the Solon man was giving a hard time to the bartender at Crossroads Bar at the corner of Aurora and Solon roads.

The New Yorker stepped in to stop the Solon man, who instead hit the New Yorker in the face with a whiskey glass.

The fight spilled out into the parking lot. When police arrived, the Solon man was gone, leaving a trail of blood and his bloody clothes heading down Aurora Road. The New Yorker was still there, and he talked to police.

The Solon man was later found and arrested near his apartment on Aurora Road.

Arrested and charged were Michael P. Weedon, 51, of Lancaster, N.Y., and Perry Edward McKinney, 33, of Solon.

Both men were charged with felonious assault because of the extent of the damage they did to each other, according to police. Both men were taken to .

Lt. Bruce Felton, a department spokesman, said both men were still in the hospital as of Tuesday afternoon.
