Truck Driver Killed in Cement Truck Crash on U.S. 422
The accident has snarled traffic on the westbound lanes near Harper Road
A truck driver was killed this afternoon when his cement truck flipped over and rolled several times while driving west on U.S. 422.
The crash happened near the Harper Road bridge. Police do not yet know what caused the truck to flip, said Lt. Bruce Felton, a spokesman for the Solon Police Department.
At about 2:55 p.m., the driver lost control of the truck, which flipped several times.
No other cars were involved in the accident.
Felton said the driver was trapped in the truck and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver's identity is being withheld until his family can be notified.
Traffic heading west on U.S. 422 is being diverted around the accident using the exit and entrance ramps.
Traffic is extremely heavy and slow on U.S. 422 in both directions, Harper Road and SOM Center Road. Police say drivers should avoid those areas if possible.
Check back to Solon Patch for more information about the developing story.

We drove past this accident today, while they were trying to get the man out. It didn't look good from our view the car became quiet as we seen his arm just hanging there we all felt that it wasn't going to be ok. The sight will be in our minds for a long time. Feel bad for the family.
