Teens Charged With Underage Drinking in Solon
The information in this report is from the Solon Police Department. An arrest does not mean a conviction.
Two adults and six teenagers were cited for underage drinking, and two teens were charged with drug offenses after police broke up a partying Solon.
A person on Franklin Drive told Solon Police on Jan. 15 that he saw a bunch of teenagers enter an apartment with beer. Police went to check it out, and smelled burning marijuana, according to a report.
They talked to teens exiting the party who said they didn't feel comfortable there and left. Police checked the teens out, and they checked out.
But it wasn't the same story inside. Police arrested two 18-year-olds, one from Solon and another from South Euclid, and charged them with underage possession and consumption.
Also cited were six teenagers, one 17-year-old and five 16-year olds. A 16-year-old boy from Cleveland was charged with drug possession and a 16-year-old Solon teen was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Four other teens, three from Solon and one from Lyndhurt, were charged with underage drinking.
The teens were released to their parents and they will be referred to the juvenile officer.
