Street Fight Erupts After Rush Hour Car Crash

The information in this report is from the Solon Police. An arrest does not mean a conviction.

When a 48-year-old Solon man left his house Monday morning, he probably didn't plan on crashing his car and then getting into a fight with a tow truck driver.

At about 7:43 a.m. on May 2, Solon Police were called to the 31500 block of Solon Road because they received a report of two men fighting in the street after a crash.

Witnesses told police that the Solon man believed a tow truck -- which was towing a car unrelated to the crash -- caused the crash because its driver door was open.

According to the report, the Solon man walked over to the tow truck and kicked its door closed. The 31-year-old truck driver, a Niles man, didn't like that.

The two men got into an argument that led to blows.

Both men were issued misdemeanor citations for disorderly conduct.
