Solon Woman's Credit Card Account Hijacked By Thief

The information in this report is from the Solon Police Department.

A Solon woman told police she found more than $5,000 of fraudulent charges on her American Express account.

But that's only the half of it. When the 48-year-old resident called American Express to report the charges, she learned that someone claiming to be her and called and used her password to change the address and telephone number for her account, according to a report.

Her account address was changed to a location in Brooklyn, N.Y.

The fraudulent charges amounted to $5,082.83. Items were purchased from Access Computers in Michigan; Builderdepot.com in California and Sysfob Inc. in New Jersey.

Police are investigating.
