Solon Woman Doused With Lighter Fluid Says She Received Death Threat

The following information was supplied by the Solon police department. It does not indicate a conviction

A Texas man arrested last month and charged with dumping lighter fluid on a Solon woman may face a new charge of aggravated menacing after the woman told police he threatened to kill her.

The woman, who lives on Royal Portrush Drive in the Signature One subdivision, told Solon Police that Julian Luis Deayala, 49, of Houston, TX, left her threatening phone calls and text messages on May 31.

The woman told police that Deayala said he was "going to burn her and bury her."

The calls were placed in the evening of May 31, the night before Deayala was due in court in Bedford to be arraigned on charges of assault, criminal mischief and intimidating a witness.

Those charges were the result of an incident on May 15 when police say Deayala and the woman, friends from high school, began fighting. Police say Deayala dumped lighter fluid on the woman, who called 911 to report it.

Lt. Bruce Felton of the Solon Police Department said Deayala had returned to Texas after his arrest, and police don't know where Deayala was when the woman received the calls. Police also don't know if Deayala came to his court appearance.
