Solon Woman Charged With Filing a False Rape Report

Both members of a Solon couple are facing charges after a woman filed a report saying her boyfriend beat and raped her, only to recant the allegations later, according to .

Police say the 31-year-old woman told police on Feb. 2 that her live-in boyfriend, 30, and father of her child had hit and raped her. Officers advised the woman to visit the hospital and see a sexual assault nurse examiner and speak with a victim's advocate through the court system, but the woman refused.

An arrest warrant was issued for the boyfriend as police continued to investigate the case. After the warrant was issued, the woman returned to police station and said she made the allegations up because she was mad at him.

Now both of them face charges. The boyfriend is charged with domestic violence and the woman is charged with falsification. The matter will now be sorted out by the court system.
