Solon Teen Resists Police After Domestic Violence Incident

A teenage girl from Solon was arrested and charged with hitting her mother during a domestic dispute that led to her eventually being restrained by Solon police.Β 

According to police, the girl, 17, is accused of punching and slapping her 53-year-old mother in the face on June 14 at about 1:59 a.m in the family's Solon home.

Police say the girl locked herself in the bathroom with an 18-year-old friend but fled the house before police arrived. The report says they were found hiding in a neighbor's yard.

According to police, the girl was very intoxicated Β and resisted arrest, including attempting to kick out the back window of the police cruiser and head-butting the divider between the back and front seats.

Police say the girl continued resisting at the police station, so she was placed in a restraining chair until she calmed down. She was later taken to the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Detention Center.

The girl's 18-year-old friend was not charged.
