Solon Man Threatens Neighbors With Gun, Gets Arrested

A Bainbridge Road man was arrested on Dec. 29 after he threatened his neighbors with a handgun, according to Solon Police.
Matthew Rios, 37, of Solon, is charged with aggravated menacing and having a weapon while having disabilities, according to the police report. Solon Police say that Rios is a convicted felon.
According to the report, a couple living on Bainbridge Road were arguing outside when Rios came outside and got involved. The report says he threatened them with a handgun.

This seems to be a rule unique way of classifying people OH: "Having weapons while under disability," which is an open window to many potential issues. Having details about what this person's specific "disability" is, would make this a far more interesting article.

"Having weapons while under disability," is like the "Obstructing Police Business (asking for a lawyer)" as a catchall generic charge.

The police told me that the "disability" in this case, under the law, is that the person involved was a convicted felon.
