Solon moviegoers, get ready for a new and improved film experience at Solon Cinemas.
Davis Development Group recently announced that it has leased the theater on Enterprise Parkway to Digiplex, which plans to upgrade the theater by installing five 3D-compatible screens, according to a press release from Digiplex.
The lease of the theater begins Feb. 1. The companies involved provided no timetable for when the 3D theaters are going to be ready.
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
Other changes are also coming to the theater, said Davis Development Group Vice President Paul Yusko in the news release.
"We are delighted that Digiplex, a dynamic and forward-thinking leader in the theatrical exhibition space, has agreed to operate our Solon, Ohio multiplex property," Yusko said. "As a key anchor tenant on Enterprise Parkway we are confident that their further improvements to the theater and their unique focus on showcasing alternative, non-cinematic programming – from opera to live sports – and successful community outreach via social media will help drive additional theater attendance as well as incremental traffic to the area’s surrounding retailers, including several nearby restaurants and fast food establishments."
Solon Cinemas has 16 screens and has recently converted to digital screening.
