Skeleton Found Near Cedar Point May Be Missing Solon Man Charles Kaplan
The Lucas County Coroner's Office is examining the remains to determine if it is Charles Kaplan, a Solon man missing since October.
SANDUSKY, OH -- A skeleton found earlier this week near Cedar Point amusement park may be the remains of local missing boater Charles Kaplan, reports the Plain Dealer.
Kaplan, of Solon, has been missing since his boat was found capsized near the amusement park last October.
Kaplan's companion, Pam Holstein, was found dead inside the boat. The Coast Guard combed the area for Kaplan, but he was never found and the search for him was suspended.
The Plain Dealer reported that on Monday two boys walking along a breakwall found human remains. They told their father, who contacted authorities.
The remains are being examined by the Lucas County Coroner's Office in hopes of getting an official indentification.

He'd probably ingested the Elephant ears & the Sandusky "Corn Dog" from the park before his demise

It is tragic. I was with the two boys who found these remains, its my brother and his friend. It is not something to joke about, and make smart comments on. Think of how badly hurt his family is, and how they have suffered for 7 months not knowing where their father is, if he is alive or not, not being able to bury him and put him to rest. Now hopefully his children can finally put him down to rest and have some peace in their lives.

Very upsetting for all involved, I'm sure. I hope the boys are doing okay. They might do well to spend a little time with a counselor and just debrief things.... that's actually a very traumatic experience for most people.
