Seibert Resigns: Colleagues Reflect On Her Accomplishments
School board officials reacted to the resignation of Dorothy Seibert from the Solon school board.
Here's reactions from her colleagues on her years of service:
Superintendent Joe Regano:
"Dorothy’s insight has been a hallmark on the Board for many years. She always kept a keen eye on balancing the needs of the community with the needs of our students. But at no time did she waiver in her determination to ensure the Solon Schools were continually improving and providing the best possible academic program for our students. Words alone can express the gratitude of everyone in the Solon Schools for the commitment of time and energy she gave to the district for 24 years."
Board President Margo Morrow:
"Dorothy has been integral in the development of so many of our district programs. In her role on the Board, she was instrumental in taking the Solon Schools from a good school district to the great school district it is today. Life changes, and we understand Dorothy’s need to move on in another direction. The citizens of Solon and Glenwillow – especially the children served by the schools – could not have asked for a more dedicated or effective Board member. On behalf of the other members of the Board of Education, we thank her for her service."
Board Member Julie Glavin:
"As a public servant, colleague and friend, I hold Dorothy in the highest regard. I will truly miss working with her. I know the community will miss her, as well. One thing about Dorothy I always respected is that she never compromised her principles or beliefs when it came to her responsibility as a board member. She stood firm on what was right for the children, always. And that’s the kind of person you want in this position."
